Hydrate for Health Receives Queen’s Award for Enterprise
Bristol based company Hydrate for Health Ltd is celebrating after being presented with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise Innovation from the Lord–Lieutenant of Bristol, Mrs Mary Prior MBE JP
This follows a Queens Award Winners Reception at Buckingham Palace in July where Hydrate for Health owner Mark Moran was one of a small number of selected winners given the opportunity to speak with the Queen in person.
The Queen’s Award – the UK’s highest accolade for business success – is in recognition of the unique product, The Hydrant – a simple, hands-free, drinking system designed to prevent dehydration in healthcare.
The Hydrant simply clips, hangs or hooks on beds, chairs and wheelchairs – removing the problem of reaching, lifting, or holding drinks, thus giving easy access to fluids at all times.
The Hydrant is being used in hospitals, care homes and at home and is delivering visible improvement in the quality of life for its users. At the same time it is saving £millions for the NHS, preventing hospital admissions & shortening patients’ length of stay.
The Hydrant was developed by owner Mark Moran as result of personal experience in hospital following a spinal operation. Mark said: I’m delighted to receive such a prestigious award – The Hydrant simply helps lots of people to remain independent and dignified and helps keep them out of hospital’
